Dear Boreal Family Medicine Patients,
We are excited to announce the expansion of our services to our patients. We have teamed up with Sparrow Health to help our patients get more convenient access to seamless and effective services from their doctors. This means you can now make requests for prescription renewals, get a sick note, or ask for prescriptions for physiotherapy, orthotics, massage therapy, or chiropractic therapy without having to book an appointment! Effective January 1st, you’ll be able to make these requests either online at www.sparrowhealth.ca, or by contacting our office directly at 705-674-3502 option #2.
We understand that patients really value the convenience of being able to have these services without an appointment. But the process of providing uninsured services demands a significant amount of time and resources to deliver, and requests for these services have increased exponentially in the past few years. In order for us to be able to continue to provide these convenient services, payment has become the responsibility of the patient.
You’ll be able to pay-per-service requested or you may prefer to use the monthly or annual subscription options which could help you save. Subscribing for example would allow you to call in for the prescription renewals at no added cost to you. There are also more features coming that we’re sure will provide even more value to our patients.
Alternatively, you can always book an appointment with your family doctor for a medication renewal, and if needed urgently you can access our after-hours clinics. Your Provincial Health Insurance plan will cover medication refills with visits, but none of the other services available through Sparrow Health are covered by your Provincial Health Insurance plan.
