What are uninsured services?
Uninsured services are services that are not covered by OHIP and may therefore require payment.
Examples may include:
- Forms and reports requested by insurance companies, employers, schools, or other third parties
- Medical letters and certain doctor’s notes
- Completion of certain forms or documentation requested for personal or administrative purposes
- Missed appointments or no-shows, where applicable
- Prescription requests made without an accompanying insured medical service
- Certain administrative services requested by a patient or third party
- Services requested primarily for purposes other than medically necessary insured medical care
